IT'S TIME TO HAVE YOUR SAY AND YOUR UNION IS LISTENING ...
Clearly with everything that's happened at CIT we casual teachers have an urgent need to let our union know how they can help us to get better working conditions for casual staff.
At CIT specifically, we need to ask the union NOT to accept Fairwork Australia's definition of CASUAL TEACHERS according to CIT when the next enterprise agreement comes around.
As the population ages and we become even more vulnerable to being sidelined as casual teachers, our treatment can only get worse if we do not learn how to speak up. If you don't want to attend meetings then at the very least write to the CIT organiser Mike Fitzgerald (MFitzgerald@aeuact.asn.au) and let him know your thoughts so that he and his collegues can discuss how to protect our interests as much as the interests of permanent employees are currently being protected to the complete disadvantage - and bullying - of casual teachers.
